This article will explain grading components of your Club Compliance score. For each component you can follow the hyperlinked tutorials in this article to complete the corresponding task. Completing as many of this tasks as possible will raise your club Compliance Score and certify that your club is compliant with USGA/WHS guidelines on handicapping
There are 15 total components that make up you Club Compliance Score. They are as follow
- Scoring data integration with Cap Patrol

Your club will be evaluated on those components based on Cap Patrol’s Club Compliance grade scale
To view each component and corresponding grade scale
- Select Dashboard from the left-side menu
- Click the desired category in your Club Compliance Score card to open the tab
- Click the corresponding Grade Scale below the component you wish you view

Below is a breakdown of each component comprising Club Compliance Score and a brief write up on how to improve your club’s grade for each component.
World Handicap System
The “World Handicap System” category of Club Compliance Score evaluates your club on monitoring the WHS posting data for each member at your club.
- Scoring data integration with Cap Patrol
Having an active Cap Patrol account will give your club a a perfect score on this mark. Cap Patrol provides all the necessary reports to view each golfer at your clubs WHS records
- Addressing Flagged Data
Addressing all flagged posting data from Cap Patrol in your WHS database will give your club a perfect score on this mark. See Flagged Data for a full tutorial of how to do so.
Tee Sheet Integration
The “Tee Sheet Integration” category of Club Compliance Score evaluates your club on monitoring playing and posting activity for each member at your club. The performance grades here measure if you are using the Cap Patrol’s Tee Sheet Communication features to ensure timely and accurate WHS posting
- Integration of Tee Sheet Data
An active Tee Sheet Integration will give your club a perfect score on this mark. Please reach out to Cap Patrol’s customer service department if you do not have an active Tee Sheet Integration using this Tee Sheet Integration Form
- Member Posting Compliance
This grade scale evaluates the combined Posting Percentage of the members at your club. Over 90% as a club will give your club a perfect score on this mark. You can view posting percentage on the Member Tee Time Report
- Reminder To Post
To promote score posting compliance Cap Patrol’s Reminder to Post should be turned on and utilized. Sending all qualifying Reminder to Post notifications for a month will give your club a perfect score on this mark. Cap Patrol recommends setting your delivery method to “Automatic” in your Reminder to Post settings to achieve this.
- Peer Review
To promote honest score posting Cap Patrol’s Peer Review should be turned on and utilized. Sending all qualifying Peer Review notifications for a month will give your club a perfect score on this mark. Cap Patrol recommends setting your delivery method to “Automatic” in your Peer Review settings to achieve this.
- Tracking Non-Postable Activity
Cap Patrol allows members to declare a round as “Non-Postable” if it meets the WHS guidelines of a non-postable round. Evidence of non postable declarations and less than 20% of total rounds at your club receiving a non postable designation will give your club a perfect score on this mark.
Handicap Management
The “Handicap Management” category of Club Compliance Score evaluates your club on the application to WHS handicapping procedures and the implementation of handicap/posting adjustments when necessary.
- Events & Results
To better monitor handicapping in your club’s events, tournaments, and competitions Cap Patrol allows you to track the performance of your golfers in your club’s competitive events. 100% current results for your club’s events will give your club a perfect score on this mark. - Failure to Post
To promote score posting Cap Patrol offers a Failure to Post Penalty System for those in violation of your club’s posting policies. Sending all qualifying Failure to Post notifications for a month will give your club a perfect score on this mark. - Member Handicap Index Review
To ensure the Handicap Committee is reviewing member handicap data Cap Patrol monitors the use of your Member Summary Report. Access the Member Summary Report in Cap Patrol at least once every 30 days to receive a perfect score on this mark.
- Applied Member Adjustments
To show proof of handicap review and adjustment Cap Patrol monitors the use of Adjustment Letter’s to notify a member of a Handicap Adjustment. Send at least one qualifying member an Adjustment Letter each month to receive a perfect score on this mark
- Member Education Campaign
Cap Patrol provides a member education campaign to educate the golfer’s at your club on several WHS handicapping rules and practices. Send the Member Education documents through the Member Education system in Cap Patrol to receive a perfect score on this mark.
Handicap Committee
The “Handicap Committee” category of Club Compliance Score evaluates your club on formation and procedures of a Handicap Committee within the guidelines of the WHS/USGA.
- Formulation & Composition
Cap Patrol allows you to declare the members of your handicap committee and ensures the composition of the committee follows the USGA guidelines. A Handicap Committee of 5 or more, with club member as chairperson, staff member as ad hoc, and representative gender participation will give your club a perfect score on this mark. - Committee Access to Scoring Records
To grant each committee member access to golfer’s scoring records Cap Patrol will allow you to create a Cap Patrol profile for each committee member. Setting up all handicap committee members with Cap Patrol user access will give your club a perfect score on this mark.
- Training
Each handicap committee member can declare they have completed the WHS training with Cap Patrol. If two or more committee members confirm they have completed the WHS training your club will receive a prefect score for this mark
- Documented Policies & Procedures
Handicap committees are encouraged to issue the golfing members a document outlining policies and procedures for establishing and maintaining handicap indexes. Send Documented handicap policies and procedures though Cap Patrol to all members at your club to receive a perfect score on this mark.
