Failure to Post is a system in which members are notified that they have failed to post a score in the designated time frame determined by your club.
Failure to Post uses progressive penalties based on how many violations a member has. The Failure to Post system tracks each member’s violation count over the course of a season and suggests the corresponding penalty to be implemented by the club handicap administrator . Failure to Post violations reset at the start of each season, meaning every member starts a golf season with 0 Failure to Post violations.
Failure to Post offers the option for a “Final Reminder to Post” prior to a “Failure to Post” designation. It also offers a customizable, progressive penalty system that can be determined and applied at the handicap administrations discretion.
To Enable Failure to Post:
- Select “Admin” in the Left Side menu
- Select the “TEE SHEET COMMUNICATIONS” tab
- Select the “FAILURE TO POST” tab
- Select “YES”

Final Reminder to Post
Cap Patrol recommends enabling the “Final Reminder to Post” in conjunction with “Failure to Post” To do so select the “YES” button below “Does the Cub Choose to Send a Final Reminder to Post?”

Final Reminder to Post serves as a last warning to members before they acquire a Failure to Post Violation. It will be sent automatically one day before a Failure to Post Violation could be assigned, on the conditions that:
- The club has sent an initial Reminder to Post to qualifying members
- The member has still not posted a score
Cap Patrol provides a Final Reminder to Post Template. You can edit this template in the “Email template” section of this page. Use the “RESTORE DEFAULT” button to return to the cap patrol provided template

The email a member will receive as the Final Reminder to Post will include the following.
- Tee sheet record stating date and time of play
- Corresponding violation number
- The club established penalty if a score is not posted within 24 hours
- A link to post their score
- A link to declare this round as non-postable
An example of a Final Reminder to Post email a member would receive is depicted here

Interval
Set the “Interval” to determine the number of days after play before the round is deemed a “Failure to Post Violation”

Following all the Cap Patrol recommended settings, Failure to Post reminders and violations would proceed as following 2 days after date of play – Reminder to Post notification sent 4 days after date of play – Final Reminder to Post notification sent 5 days after date of play – Failure to post notification sent and violation recorded
Progressive Penalty system
In the section labeled “Club Penalty for Progressive Violation” a club will establish the penalties for the First, Second, Third, and Fourth violation.
To establish your club’s penalty system:
Click the drop-down menu, then select one of the four penalty templates you wish to edit.
Type your determined penalty for the corresponding violation number in the “Body” section of the text box.

Cap Patrol will track the number of Failure to Post Violations per season, and issue the violation notice according to the number of offenses. Violations will reset at the start of each season
Cap Patrol does not issue the Penalties automatically, we only provide the list to the Club Administrator and deliver the notices at your approval. Any penalty established must be enforced by the Club Administrator. For example if your penalty system involves a low score input, that must be done separately through WHS/GHIN
After the Fourth violation the penalty no longer progresses. Subsequent violations will receive a repeat of the fourth violation. Cap Patrol recommends setting your violation penalties progressively, making the fourth violation the most severe punishment a member can receive.
Email Template
Cap Patrol provides an email template for the Notice of Failure to Post email. It will pre-populate all the necessary fields, including the “Violation Count” “Current Penalty” and “Next Penalty”
You may edit the text in the body of the template. Restore to the default template at any time using the “RESTORE DEFAULT” button

Once you have completed all these steps to set up Failure to Post. Be sure to click the SAVE button in bottom right-hand corner of the page
