Sending Notification of Adjustment

Cap Patrol will identify members recommended for a Handicap Adjustment in your Members Eligible for Adjustment Report

To view your Members Eligible for Adjustment Report Report:

From here Cap Patrol can generate a personalized letter notifying an eligible member of a Handicap Adjustment.

NOTE: This list will only include members of your club with a Cap Score below 50, Cap Patrol’s Adjustment range.

To send a personalized letter notifying a member of a Handicap Adjustment:

First, Click the GENERATE LETTER button in the Members Eligible for Adjustment Report

A template of Cap Patrol’s Member Adjustment Notification will appear. This is customizable. You may edit the message in the Body section.

We recommend leaving this message as is. The message is intended to break down a member’s Cap Score and adjustment criteria using strictly their data as it pertains to our algorithm. It justifies the adjustment with data throughout the message, leaving any subjective reasoning out of the equation.

Next, edit the following fields as desired:

To do so click the pencil icon ✏️ in the right-hand column.

Note: next_review_date should be the day following the end date.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the PREVIEW button. This will open a preview of the Member Adjustment Notification as the member will receive it.

All text in blue font is the member’s current metrics that have lead to the handicap adjustment. See Screenshot below:

If you are content with the preview, return to the bottom of the page and click the SEND button to send the member their Member Adjustment Notification.

Once the member is notified of the adjustment the handicap committee should then make the modification to this player’s index only for the upcoming club tournaments, events, and competition rounds.

Cap Patrol does NOT recommend making the handicap adjustment in GHIN or the WHS
