To enable Failure to Post you will need to have Reminder to Post enabled first.
Enable Failure to Post
Failure to Post is a progressive penalty system that can be determined and applied at the discretion of the handicap administration.
A member must have received a Reminder to Post notice in order to qualify for a Failure to Post Violation
Cap Patrol will never apply any penalties automatically. The Failure to Post system is used to track and notify members when a score has not been posted in the designated time frame determined by your club.
The Failure to Post system tracks each member’s violation count over the course of a season and informs the member of the corresponding penalty set to be implemented by the club handicap administrator .
Failure to Post violations reset at the start of each season, meaning every member starts a golf season with 0 Failure to Post violations.
To Enable Failure to Post:
- Select the Member Communication Tab on the left-side menu
- Select FAILURE TO POST tab
- Click the Settings ⚙️ button

Enable - Toggle the slider to “Enabled” to activate Failure to Post and complete setup
Final Reminder to Post - Toggle the slider to enable final reminder to post. This is last reminder to post a score before that round will be considered a Failure to Post
Cap Patrol recommends enabling the Final Reminder to Post when using the Failure to Post Penalty system
Final Reminder to Post notices will be sent automatically one day before a Failure to Post Violation is determined, on the conditions that:
- The club has sent an initial Reminder to Post for the corresponding round
- The member has still not posted a score

Progressive Violation Penalties
In the section labeled “Progressive Violation Penalties” a club will establish the penalties for the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Failure to Post violation
To establish your club’s penalty system:
- Click the Progressive Violation Penalties to open drop down menu
- Select one of the four penalty templates you wish to edit.
Type your determined penalty for the corresponding violation number in the “Body” section of the text box.

NOTE: Text entry is required for all four penalties before saving and enabling the Failure to Post
Cap Patrol will track the number of Failure to Post Violations per season, and issue the violation notice according to the number of offenses. Violations will reset at the start of each season
After the Fourth violation the penalty no longer progresses. Subsequent violations will receive a repeat of the fourth violation. Cap Patrol recommends setting your violation penalties progressively, making the fourth violation the most severe punishment a member can receive.
