Cap Patrol determines a handicap adjustment by Cap Score
A golfer will be recommended for a Handicap Adjustment when their Cap Score is in 1 of 2 Adjustment Tiers:
First Adjustment Tier = Cap Score of 49-40
Full Adjustment Tier = Cap Score of 39 or below
Why are certain member’s being adjusted?
Major factors that contribute to a low Cap Score and player handicap adjustment are:
- Frequent placing in Net Events in the past 24 months (High EPS Score)
- High variance in the Last 12 Months High and Low Index
- Lower Competition Index vs Current Index
- High variance between Home vs Away scoring
The Cap Score Algorithm can analyze data points from the fields above and determine a golfer’s current index is not an accurate depiction of their true golfing ability.
A Handicap Adjustment is calculated by taking the current index and comparing it to the golfer’s 12 Month Low Index and Competition Index .
Cap Patrol does not encourage modifying a golfers index in GHIN or WHS. Handicap adjustments in Cap Patrol are strictly intended for club tournaments, competitive rounds, and events.
