Active Golf Season - Why it’s important

How your allied association season effects handicapping

Several reports, features and statistics in Cap Patrol are based around your governing association’s season start and end date.

Season start and end dates are established by your governing association. Clubs don’t have the ability to change their season start and end dates.

GHIN/WHS only allows scores to be posted when a golf association has declared an "active season", meaning course conditions are suitable in the region for consistent play. During inactive seasons, scores are not accepted for handicap purposes to ensure fairness and accuracy.

Member’s at your club may still post away scores to GHIN/WHS during your club’s inactive season, as long as the round was played at a course currently in active season.

Cap Patrol will have your active golf season on record from your governing association.
