Cap Score is the rating Cap Patrol assigns to each golfer’s handicap using our patented algorithm.
A golfer’s Cap Score is in essence a “Credit Score” on their handicap index. It’s purpose is to assess the validity of a golfer’s handicap.
The Cap Patrol algorithm determines Cap Score using all of the available data on a golfer, such as:
- Last 12 months high and low handicap indexes in the WHS
- Home vs. Away scores
- Potential – Competition scoring compared to Casual scoring
- % of rounds posted vs. played
- Performance in club events of all formats over the past 24 months
The algorithm takes 45 data points from the fields mentioned above and calculates a Cap Score to determine the accuracy of their current Handicap index.
Cap Score is graded from 0-100. 0 being the worst possible score, 100 being perfect.
Cap Score is the metric used in the Cap Patrol System to determine if a golfer’s handicap index is an accurate reflection of the golfer’s true playing ability.
Cap Score is used to identify which members at your club should receive a Handicap Adjustment for upcoming club events .
Cap Score is a supplement to GHIN/WHS designed to improve fair play at tournaments and events.
